#2AM Chinese water torture

We go days without talking,
beyond the everyday

and then one word
binds my wrists to the bedposts,

ends of the silk scarves
tickling my arms.

  1. Aha! Usually the one word you need is the one to have the ties released! But this sounds better! I am glad tickling is going on. k.

  2. Oh - the title works so perfect here, but that word that ties you.. and that tickling is exactly when it starts isn't it?

  4. Silk scarves work for me, hee hee hee. So too that one word that turns the world upside down.

  5. I'm so glad you went with that title; I love being exposed to new information.

I presume the "one word" would be your name, spoken dreamily in the middle of the night. Very romantic capture of marriage. I like that this is short; it allows me to draw out words within words, like "carves," "ilk," and "tick." Even "ends" could have multiple meanings.

  6. I like the way you have shared a scene with so few words! And, I think, you have written it in a way that the reader can run with it and complete the details in one of numerous ways!

  7. So much of what love is seems to get covered by the fatigue of living, yet can be revealed with the right kind of breath...the turn of a move. And it doesn't take a 500 page volume to get to what matters, as you show here.

  8. to quote you ~
"In the arms of our love,
we find all our basic needs met."
and hopefully a few extra desires as well....

  10. Nice! a sensual scene, a loving scene created with just a few words. Imagination fills in the rest. And in the "arms of our love, we find all our basic needs met".....so very true! Hayes Spencer is KanzenSakura

  11. Very impressive brevity, passion, & truth in this gem; nice reference to the Asian/Indian love techniques. Like the short man who packs a stiff punch, you put some of our verbosity to shame; excellent use of the prompt.

  12. And now you have us wondering about that one word. Very clever! I also like the way you evoke so much within so few words.
